The hydroponic industry, let alone Water Fresh Farm, owes much of its progress and success to Dr. Merle Jensen, a pioneer in using technology to meet food demands of a growing population.

Born and raised on a farm near Lynden, Washington, Merle Jensen was always interested in the study of plants. After earning his doctorate in Horticulture, Merle joined the faculty of the University of Arizona and became a leading research horticulturist. His care and concern for the world’s need to feed an ever growing population has made Dr. Jensen a missionary of sort, traveling to places like Abu Dhabi to build hydroponic facilities.

Dr. Jensen’s renown in the field of hydroponics and developing revolutionary farming techniques even led the Walt Disney Company to seek out Merle and his team to design EPCOT’s ‘The Land’pavilion.

Merle Jensen has been a key consultant to us since our inception. As newcomers to the hydroponic industry, we recognized the value of having someone like Merle on our side for guidance. Merle has become a good friend who has shared his wealth of knowledge and given us confidence to expand crop production from tomatoes to cucumbers, basil, lettuce, spinach, and even strawberries. We owe a debt of gratitude to Merle Jensen, a leader in the continuing development of hydroponic agriculture worldwide.
